What does snow mean in a dream?

I saw me, my mom, and my cousin in a small cottage in a snowy Boreal (Evergreen) forest. We were sitting next to a fireplace and no one said anything. It was a first-person dream. The problem is that I've been seeing the same dream 2 or 3 times and I think it's trying to tell me something. Right now my cousin is in India and he's applying for a school here in the US. He wants to come and live with us. Since I saw him and my mom, do you think he got the admission?

Your dream suggests the cousin being with you, but in a rather silently dismal situation emotionally.

It is peaceful enough - but there is a forest around you, not an indication of a bright path.  The snow can be seen as positive - newness, something to be crossed and to leave fresh footprints on.  A new beginning.

But it may indicate a concern you have that while the cousin may yet come to be with you, he may not get the school that he wishes for but something less.  He is, afterall, rather locked into the cabin in this wintry scene and going nowhere for the moment.

This would have more to do with your own sense or fear of things than anything prophetic at all.  It could be prophetic to the extent that your observations and feelings may be reliable about his destiny, but that's all - and you would have to decide how accurate that may be.  

I would not take it as a definite 'message' that he will or will not be attending this school of his choice.  It is quite normal to have anxieties about such things for those we care about, but try to focus on the realities of the thing and that he must have a good opportunity to attend or he would not be in the running now.  You must have the patience to let his application run its course, the answer will come in time.
