What does spectral displacement mean in paranormal terms?

I just heard this on Ghost Whisperer. He explained it..but I didn't understand what he said.

I think that Seerlights has the best answer. I have not heard those words used in this manner. It does sound like politispeak for a Wraith.

Spectral displacement....hmmm...as far paranormal terms go, that's a new one for me.  I did research it briefly and from what I gathered it is used to describe the breakdown of the path of atoms when acted on by gravity.

I searched the definitions of the two words separately, and got this:

1. Of or resembling a specter; ghostly.

2. Of, relating to, or produced by a spectrum.

dis·place·ment  (ds-plsmnt)

If I had to give this my best guess, it sounds like one of those terms that some investigators have thrown together to make themselves sound like they have all the answers.  I've never heard of spirit displacement, but would have to say that if it were a real term it would suggest that spirits can be relocated or moved from one location to another.  There is no proof to support this, and wouldn't take the term serious at all if I heard other investigators using it without documented support.

what was he doing about to perform probally a cleansing of some kind to a house? maybe guiding a spirit back to heaven? it would be something along those lines i never watched that show so i cant say exactly what he meant

This is my way of explaining it...when a soul leaves the body and is not dead but can be seen and communicated with.  It happens most often in cases of possession, OBE, and astral travel. It is not common.

Spectral displacement?  Bwahahahhah. That's a new one. I love all these attempts by mystics to try to sound legit with their jargon. Displacement, eh?

Okay, here goes.The spectral displacement is the size of an engine in a ghost car. For example, the spectral displacement of the ghost of a 2008 Mustang GT is 4.6 Liters.

Dont wana look at your other answers it might infleuance how I feel about this issue.  Displacement occures on many planes of thought.  For me it suggests that IF I had purpose, and suddenly I died.  I would spiritually want to fulfill my intended purpose.  This spiritual goal might even keep me here long after true passing.  Ultamately it may keep me in one spot for a while.

Oh dear, Oh dear.  Movies and TV are simply illusions, that you would even think about such a thing??????

This planet and all planets like it operate in dimensional spheres, up to the joining with the fourth. There is a system in place that takes people across when they die. Yes a few people here and there get caught up here so to speak, this then creates what we call a ghost. There are many folk who recognise these ghosts and send them home to thier reality and God, this is also npormal as it is part of the persons destiny.
