  1. not sure about the first sentence never heard of that but not showing up in court results in a warrant issued for failure to appear.

  2. Most likely, It means your grandmother has been "served a summons" to appear in court.  The summons will have the courthouse information including a contact number.  If she does not appear, she will be subject to a severe penalty (usually a fine) and will still have to appear in court later when her appearance is rescheduled.

Your best bet is to contact the number of the Clerk of the Court on that summons and inquire further through them.  I've had to serve people in the past for simple obligations they legally bound themselves to but did not adhere to, like credit card and loan companies.

I wish you luck in helping your grandmother get this matter resolved and the last piece of advice I will leave with you is this... before you ever sign anything... request a copy of it for your records and create a CONTRACTS file in your lockbox or filing cabinet.  This can very well safe you a lot of hassle down the road.  Finally... NEVER SIGN ANYTHING YOU HAVEN'T READ OR DO NOT UNDERSTAND.

This especially includes credit card applications and loan applications.  Remember these banks have teams of lawyers representing them waiting for you to default.

  3. Without knowing the details of the case it is hard to say.  Usually strike means motion to strike. Entry of Appearance usually means someone appearing before the court. Just based off of that it seems as though someone motioned to strike the entry of appearance.

You should contact a lawyer though and get some advice.

  4. there will be a failuer to apear issued and a warrent will be filed
