        *  Disease Prevention: (e.g., immunization, chemoprevention against cancer, nutrigenetics)

        * Screening of diseases in asymptomatic people (e.g., mammography, colonoscopy, cholesterol testing)

        * Diagnosis: (e.g., electrocardiogram, x-ray for broken bones)

        * Treatment: (e.g., gene therapy, biologics for adjuvant chemotherapy)

        * Rehabilitation: (e.g., physical therapy)

        * Optimizing Care and Reducing Errors: (e.g. EMR, computerized order physician entry (COPE))


  3. Many laproscopic procedures can only be performed using technology. Microscopes, lasers, guided surgical instruments, MRI's, tiny cameras for doing colonoscopies and exploratory surgery, X-ray equipment, CT scanners, ECG and EKG machines, and a host of instruments in the laboratory to diagnose diseased states.
