i can find plenty of sites about it but all they say is that it prevents pregnancy and lists the side affects, but i want to know what it actually does (inside your body) to prevent pregnancy. does it stop ovulation al together or does it thicken the lining of your womb so the egg cant implant itself or is it the type where it thickens the entrance to the cervix so sperm find it hard to get through? i know these are the types of things different contraception's do but which one is the pill like? thanks

  1. It gives your body hormones (estrogen) to trick the body into thinking it's pregnant.

  2. the pill of any birth control product. (pill, shot, patch) so on.

they thicken the membrane in the uterus so that sperm can't reach the egg. the egg should be in the Fallopian tube or ovary.

  3. Please understand that the Pill isn't always effective, even when taken correctly.  It reduces the risk of pregnancy.  It doesn't completely stop it.

The only form of birth control that's 100% effective is no s*x.

  4. it kills your eggs in your body

  5. Most birth control pills are "combination pills" containing a combination of the hormones estrogen and progesterone to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg during the monthly cycle). A woman cannot get pregnant if she doesn't ovulate because there is no egg to be fertilized. The Pill also works by thickening the mucus around the cervix, which makes it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus and reach any eggs that may have been released. The hormones in the Pill can also sometimes affect the lining of the uterus, making it difficult for an egg to attach to the wall of the uterus.
