This question would ideally be asked to a Chinese-Filipino. I always see the two Chinese Characters in ChowKing symbols. I know the meaning of the first, "Chow" which means kind of fat? but the second, I assume is King? Am I right? So, what does it mean, and when combined?

  1. I think it means super good noodle house.  Asked that from a friend working at Chowking before

  2. fatso

  3. I don't know for sure, but based on what I've had when I've eaten there, I'd say it means 'bowl of bones and fat with little or no meat'...LOL

  4. fat dog and young cat

  5. Purina Dog Chow

  6. in philippines they use that for a name of a famous restuarant with a nice noodess just like chinese style , or nice soup

while if u r in chinese u herd that if some 1 is vomiting ,

  7. 超群

    Pinyin: Chao qun (chow chwun)

literally means super group... but means Predomination... which means like... Standing out...

Chao does not mean fat, it means like 'Super'...

    Qun means 'group'....

  8. I was wondering that too....On my last trip back to phillipines, ive always wondered why there were those chinese symbols. And I also wonder why the chow king in nepo mart alaminos, there radio, makes that sound a computer makes when theres an error....lol

  9. i dont really know.

but somebody say's its "a bowl of bones and uncooked noodle experience" ...i definitely agree.

  10. when i went to our farm in polomolok, the kids there whispered "na-ay mga chowking."  so i guess it should mean chinese or people with cute eyes.
