  1. What was the felony for?  If it was for a victimless crime like drugs, than I sympathize, as victimless crimes should not be crimes at all.

However, if the felony was for a crime against people or property than the felon gets what he deserves.  There are consequences to your decisions and actions, and making the wrong one can alter your future.  You are responsible for your own decisions, not society.

And, by the way, alaskan king crab fishing boats hire felons.

And, if I'm the next person they rob, they better shoot right off the bat, cause I never leave my house without a clip of .45acp hydrashoks and something to hold them.  Remember the 6 golden words that are your get out of jail card:  "Officer, I feared for my life!"

  2. yea that's right your expected to pay for ever

    it is very difficult

  3. After you have paid your debt to society, it is no longer the court that is an issue in employment, it is society itself.

Do as much volunteer work as you can get, especially things no one else wants. Eventually you will earn a rep as an ex con who has turned their life around and will create a network where someone will be impressed enough to take a chance on offering you a job.

  4. i agree, my friend had that problem. once someone serves their time & pays their debt to society(so to speak). that should be the end of it. they sholdn't have to keep paying forever.

  5. have you tried Mcdonalds,pizza hut, dominos,wendys,.....

  6. how about not be a felon.

  7. Well, a convicted felon isn't going to get a job at a bank, dude.

But the largest refuse/recycling collection corporation in my area employs scads of convicted felons.

In most places, an employer can refuse to hire you, or fire you, for virtually ANY reason, including just believing you're probably g*y.

  8. Start your own business. I did. I caught a felony for a fist fight in the late 80's. He started it and I finished it. I finished it a little too much for the court system. Guess your not supposed to stomp on their head. Go figure. I thought the point was to win.

  9. That's kind of why the prison systems don't work well.  Personally, I don't think anyone should go to jail unless they commit a violent crime.  Anyone else should be out working either earning a living or working for the state.  Their freedoms can be limited in other ways.  To me, prisons just breed violence and crime and create a host of social evils.
