What does the Indonesian word 'lunan' mean?

I read an article that claims this is a slang term for modern day pirates. But I can't find it in any dictionary. How do you say pirate in Bahasa Indonesia?

Actually it's "lanun"= pirate (of ships/books).

But I never hear anyone use the word "lanun" (I'm an indonesian, but this is the first time I hear this word).

The more common words are "bajak laut" (ship pirate) and "pembajak" (books pirate).

I don't quite catch it. So, was it:

- Iunan (You-none), It maybe is "Yunani" (You-none-knee) . It means "Greece/Greek".

-Iunan(Ee-you-none), it maybe "Iuran" (Ee-you-run). It means "Chip in / monthly or daily payment"

Pirate:

-Bajak Laut (Bah-jack-lah-wood)

-perompak (puh-rome-pack)

It does remind me of LUNA MAYA, an Indonesian Actress? Not so sure, but she's a celebrity for sure

There are no 'lunan' word in Bahasa (Indonesian), I think you got the wrong word.

Pirate (ship pirate) also called "perompak"

Pirate =

1. bajak laut; perompak

2. pembajak karangan atau karya tulis orang lain

I would go with one of the first two for obvious reasons.

Lanun = pirate or sea-robber

Lunan is not an Indonesian word
