  1. I won't do your homework for you, but there is a good technical section (on most every racing website) that could give you some good ideas for your report.  I'd suggest you check out these ones, for starters:

    http://www.indycar.com

    http://www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com

Good luck on your paper, and email if you have any particular questions about the tech sections (or the websites.)  I'll try to help you understand what you find there...

  5. Chemistry is a huge part of any racing team. They are always formulating new oils for use in the engine and gearbox to provide longer life and less friction. Firestone tests and retests tire compounds to ensure durability and traction. The engineers are constantly battling the laws of physics and aerodynamics when trying to get the car to handle well, but still be fast. The whole car is a study in metallurgy. They develop and use the strongest, lightest materials available to them that the rules will allow. The whole car is a rolling scientific experiment.

  6. Indy Cars as well as all cars use all of the science's,physics and the laws of physics, geometry, math, meteorological conditions and forecasting, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics and chemistry.plus metalurgy and health and diet.
