  1. Nothing is against it, Marty Biron did it his first year as a Sabre he had 00

  2. John Davidson mentioned once during an MSG interview when he was still with the Rangers that there is a rule in place since the 1950s which states that only numbers between 1 and 99 were to be used.  He said teams still try and get around it however

Davidson himself wore 00 back in the 1977-78 season and was heavily fined for it (in those days) and while he refused tpo say how much the fine was, he said it was a significant portion of his annual salary at the time.

  3. Bettman hates when they display his "hockey IQ"

  4. WHO WANTS TO BE A "ZERO"     LIKE I SAID BIRON WAS A ZERO

  5. I think the league retired that number when it retired 99. This was done on honour of Tony Esposito know as Tony "O"

  6. Uh nothing they can. It isn't that fun of a number thought that is like the only reason they don't have it. Most players take stars from their country or there dob *cough CROSBY cough* ) just doesn't really mean anything i'm guessing that is the only reason.... unless they have changed it can't they still?

BTW: i know alot of mascots for teams use the 0

  7. Hockey players are very superstitious, i.e. not shaving their beards during playoffs. This is probably why they wouldn't want to wear 0, 13, etc.

  8. The NHL started this the during the 2000-01 or 99-00 season, but you are correct: 0 or 00 are not allowed as jersey numbers. Biron changed his to 43 after the rule was put into place.

    Reasoning behind it? don't know

  9. Nothing at all... examples please.
