McCain is supposed to be the Maverick and all and he really pulled a shocker. But what now? Seems like he may be alienating himself from those strong Bush supporers. What about those hardcore Christian traditionalist and conservatives? Are the proud housewive going to accept lady who is running for VP with a 4 mth old? This is going to to be interesting to see.

  1. Wow!

John McCain's VP choice is more shallow and superficial than Fox News reporting. McCain's VP choice is based on divisive gender politics - his only hope of winning in November is to persuade staunch Hillary supporters to vote for him based solely on the candidate's gender - rather than leadership.

However, women who respect their own best interests will choose Obama and Biden who have a proven track record of standing up for women's issues - reproductive privacy, pay equity, freedom from violence and discrimination.

Shame on you John McCain for putting your campaign before America's national security.

Shame on you John McCain for putting this election before America's economic interests.

Shame on you John McCain for demonstrating your lack of judgement.

  2. ?? what do you mean by the housewives?? it sounds like you are saying that every women is a house wife and it is going to be a big change to see a women with a child working a big important job is that what you are saying?

  3. I work for a factory where the majority are blue collar white men and the comments I heard coming from the breakroom are not good. I think he'll gain some new voters but may lose just as many. It was a gutsy move.  I'm glad see the faces of republican party changing a little bit.

  4. I think he was very smart. Palin had her baby, where many may have aborted. This shows what a mother should do, love her child. She is a great mom, a great governor, smart and hard-working. She is an excellent, though non-traditional, choice.

  5. Palin is a Splendid choice and she will make a Wonderful VP (and future President)! It just goes to show that McCain is a true maverick, reformer & genius who picks likewise!

    Palin:

    * has the record of the most beloved Governor in the US by her state (Alaska)

    * is a vocal, huge proponent of American energy independence & Alaskan drilling

    * has actually been leading people for the past several while Obama & Biden NEVER have led anyone!

    * shelved her state's pork-laden Bridge to Nowhere that McCain has ridiculed on the trail

    * will join McCain in fighting hard against earmarks

    * is a huge fighter of corruption in Alaska

    * is about as far outside the Beltway as you can get

    * ran on the agenda of stopping wasteful gov't spending

    * is the mother of 5 kids!

    * has had her son deploy to Iraq

    * is for a strong US defense

    * is a widely acknowledged rising star in the Republican party

    * is an ice fisherman

    * is a moose hunter

    * is a small business owner and a lifetime NRA member

All in all, she's a truly fine leader, citizen and patriot - who truly represents Americana (Motherhood & Apple pie)!

    McCain/Palin '08

    Peace

  6. I was hoping McCain would have picked someone with more Washington experience. This lady was a small town mayor and has only been governor of Alaska for two years. Hardly experienced with dealing in world affairs. I don't get it....

  7. Excellent choice. Very excellent.

A conservative. A working mom. A middle class honest person. A woman. A party maverick herself, A former truck driver, A gun owner and 2nd amendment supporter, A hunter and fisher, A family person, A fresh real American rather than a tired old politician. Wonderful.

The liberals are choking and gasping for air. It's amusing.

  8. They will rally behind it because frankly when a person is brainwashed one way or the other its hard for them to do anything else.

  9. I believe many of them aren't going to like it. No matter how conservative her views are, there are people who are not going to be pleased with having a woman as his running mate.

  10. Palin's "...articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking..."

    AND CHANGE NOT another Lawyer!

  11. Some Southern Baptist churches here in the south that won't even allow a woman in pulpit, so I don't know how they are going to swallow this one.  I'm interested to see how the southern red staters act to this on Nov 4th.  The canidates are trying to appease everyone, but cannot please everyone without pissing off somebody else.  It's like playing craps, you're just going to have to roll the dice and see what happens.

  12. Proud housewives?

Is that your opinion of Republican conservative women?

From my own personal perspective as a  Christian conservative - I am quite capable of taking care of my children , my home , my job and my position as mayor .

Funny I haven't heard one man asked about how he juggles everything in his life
