The SD stands for "suppressed" which means it has a silencer or suppressor.  Suppressors are used to quiet the sound of the gunshots and in many cases subdue the shot flashes.  The H&K MP5 SD usually has a factory installed integral suppressor which is attached along with a specific foregrip.  Otherwise, the MP5 SD is the same as any other MP5.
