What does the Sr. Beta Club vice president do?

I am a sophomore in high school and have wanted to run for either vice president or treasurer for my state beta club for some while now, but i want to make sure i know what my role would be while in office. Any ideas? I would really appreciate any feedback on this subject. Opinions are carefully noted.

The Vice President assists the President in the performance of his duties.  Likewise, the Vice acts as the President when the latter is incapacitated.
