What does the appearance of art forms like sculpture and painting tell us about Paleolithic cultures?

i'm doing a summer assignment but the questions seem to require reading the chapter of the book i'm supposed to get next year, so if anyone can answer this question or put me in the right direction with a website, i'll be grateful. :)

also the painting probably refer cave style paints (in other words, really old)

  1. Ancient people were creative.  They used available materials to represent the world as they experienced it, record important events, and pay homage to the spiritual beings that inhabited their world.

  3. Cave drawings meant they were hunters.  Hunters needed good vision to trap larger animals, and plot their attacks.  If they were mostly  farmers or gatherers, instead of hunters, they wouldn't draw.
