  1. Means your putting your money in securities/stocks accounts and not a bank account or CD.

  2. It means you are not putting money in a regular bank account, which has FDIC insurance.  They are selling you something which may go up or down in value.

    In my experience the bank is the place to put money until you have enough to invest.  Investing is best done at a brokerage or no-load mutual fund company.

    Be wary of what they are pushing.

  3. When the bank says "No bank guarantee, may lose value" this means whatever product you might be buying is not FDIC insured.

    I would echo the answers above. You usually don't buy any investment fund from a bank due to their excessive cost and mediocre returns. Use a discount broker to invest. Use the bank to locally hold your funds until you transfer them to a discount brokerage.

  4. By law the must stipulate that your investments are not covered by FDIC.  You investments can lose some or all of their value.

    BTW:  I have a major general rule on investing I think you should know;

    Never (ever) use a bank or insurance company for investments. They tend to be high cost and mediocre recomendations. They may be nice people.... but don't use them for investments.  It generally is a bad way to go.
