  1. Could you take a photograph of it & download it so that we might be able to help you

  2. Scotland ahead!

  3. The law governing the size, description and use of Traffic Signs in the United Kingdom is contained in "The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions", which is enacted by Statutory Instrument laid before Parliament.

I have checked my copy of "The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions" (all 200+ pages thereof) and I can confirm that the sign to which you refer is not listed.

The sign is therefore illegal, and, as such, you should raise this with the Highway Authority for the road, so that it can be removed and the persons responsible for its erection can be prosecuted.

We have enough road signs already without rogue signs being erected and distracting drivers' attention (as in your case.)

  4. crossroads ahead

  5. Blue circle with a red cross is no stopping. Never seen one with a white cross. See http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTra... and click on "signs giving orders"

  6. Have you seen it on the road? It could just be that the red has come off of the sign. :P

  7. There is no such official sign.  Blue circles are generally positive orders.  A blue circle with a red cross is a clearway (no stopping).

EDIT: All I can suggest is that this sign is on privately owned land/estates and its in house.  It really doesnt exist.  I have every DSA qualification going and have trained driving instructors for years and this sign should not be there.  I have even checked my books!  I would like to know the location of this sign!

  8. It's not in the Highway Code.

  9. No, it isn't in the highway code book. I would suggest you take the details down of where you have seen this sign and get in touch with your highways department at your local authority to find out what it means.

  10. i suppose it could be ,no stopping except for deliveries(just a guess)cant find it on-line.

  11. I have looked in Highawy code, I can't find the sign you are describing or ar eyou talking about a no through road sign?
