What does the bottom left button on the maps app for the iphone/itouch do?

Whenever I press that button it zeros in on a random location in Fresno California.. It's done it since I bought it and after using the maps application a few times it still does the same thing.. I don't know what it's for.

  1. it's supposed to zoom in on your location...

    like a gps system.
