  2. Daniel is correct. Furthermore, you won't drain the camera's battery when you download it by using a card reader. If you don't think it's a big deal--wait until you have to replace the battery. It can be recharged--but for so many times until it dies.

  3. If you can't find a cable, a great alternative is to get a USB card reader for the type of memory card your camera has.

    They are cheap and available everywhere.

    Then all you do is take the card out of the camera and put it in the card reader which is connected to a spare USB port on your computer.  Your computer then sees the card as a drive on your computer.  You open up that drive and there are your pictures.  Quick and easy!

  5. It's a USB. One side connects to the USB slot in the laptop, and the other side connects to the A/V slot on the camera. If it's a Canon, it is most likely white.
