I recently received my Master 100 ton Captain Lic. And I decided to finally take the jump from deck to the bridge. I am looking at being a captain of a 65 Hatteras. What does the captain earn annually on a private (not for Charter) yacht?

  1. The range is between $45,000 - $85,000+. A 65 would be on the low end.

  2. i think it really depends on the person who you drive for.how rich they are. i knew a guy who drove this guys boat, like only a 46'er and got $500 a week cash but only worked maybe 50 hours a month mainly in the summer, but got paid all year.

  3. I once read where a captain can earn a thousand dollars per foot PER year...so I'd guess $65,000 if it's a 40 hr a week job all year round...but hey, I don't know how much money the person who is hiring u has...that was just an average pay...
