What does the expiry date on the medicines mean?Why do people say Ayurvedic medicines have no expiry?

Recently i found lot of cosmetic products at very cheap price, in sale but when i checked the manufacturing date, i was surprised to know that even the expiry date has gone. when i asked the shopkeeper he told me for cosmetics it doesnt matter. even for herbal medicines and vitamins it doesnt matter.

You should sou the Shopkeeper!!!

Sure it  matters, they usually don't get toxic or anything (Ayur Med.) but they will be way less effective...
