It kinda annoys me (no offense), when people say, "what does that have to do with the price of tea in china?", what does it mean, and what is a come back for it? Thank you.

  1. It means it is irrelevent to the conversation.

Comeback:  Nothing, but I sure could use a cup right now.

  2. It means that the reponse you just gave to the person who said it feels your comment is entirely inappropriate or irrelevent, such as the price of tea in China.

    For example:

OTHER person:  Whats for dinner tonight?

YOU:  I see the new movie is in town.

OTHER person:  Whats that have to do with the price of tea in China?

The other person is just telling you that your response to them is totally off the subject.  I dont know of any come back for it, but just try to make your responses to people more on the subject.
