In a way, stock brokers are like bookies. They make money as long as people invest. They don't really care if you win or lose. (Except if it costs them clients).

I'd like to know that myself seeing that i'm going to business school to study finance haha. The stock market goes through cycles (bull and bear markets) as business's rise and fall with the economy.  The person above me was definitely correct with the answer stress because an economy like we have now makes it that much harder to find the business's that will prosper. With all of this aside unless the economy and the market crash and we go into another great depression the stock brokers will remain in business (i hope). ha
