  1. That's a phonetic spelling. Most Irish speakers would render it as "póg mo thóin". It means kiss my ***, which is probably why it's one of the most famous Irish language phrases around.

In case you want a little more detail, "Póg" is the verb "to kiss", and in the sense it's used here, it is in the imperative, singular, meaning when you say it, you are encouraging one person to engage in the action described by the verb, to kiss.

"Mo" is the first person singular possessive pronoun, directly translating to "my".

"Tóin" means hindquarters, bottom, ****, whatever. Because it has "mo" before it, though, means it takes a "seibhiú" (shay-VOOH), a "h" sound after the first consanent, making it sound like "hone", instead of "tone".

So there you go. Enjoy. And it's NOT gaelic, it's Gaeilge, or Irish - but not Gaelic.

  2. it means kiss my a**

  3. You've spelt it wrong.  It's Póg mo thóin and it means kiss my ****.

And to the first poster who says there is no such language as Gaelic - you're wrong.  They speak Gaelic in Scotland.

  4. bad attempt at spelling, but ur forgiven haha. roughly translated it means kiss my @ss

  5. 'KISS MY @$$.....

UR PRBLY AMERICAN N SUM IRISH BUK SAID IT 2 YA...

    ITS ACTUALLY ''pog me hon.....

  6. Kiss my ***,we used say it to the english cos they could not understand it!

  7. The other answerers are correct. It means "kiss my a*s" The band "The Pogues" were initially called "The Pog Mo Hones", but they had to change their name because some smartie in the UK figured out what it meant, and they weren't allowed to go on "Top of the Pops".

  8. First of all, I presume by Gaelic you're talking about the Irish language? There is no language called "gaelic"... It's either Irish or Gaeilge.

Furthermore, I presume you mean "Póg mo thóin", which means kiss my ***.

  9. kiss my ****....im not telling u
