What does the iPod warranty cover?

I have the new black iPod 80gb video. I've had it for about 4 months, and about yesterday, it has said (when in iTunes) 'Please restore iPod' so I do, and it still says it cannot be fixed. It also sayd error 1430, which when I looked up, means the hard drive is done.

The warranty I have with Apple, the one year one, expires next year.

Will they replace it for me?

  1. yeah if you have the recipt

  2. Check here http://www.apple.com/support/

  3. if the hard drive quite, then yes they will replace it if you have all the paperwork for the warranty. good luck!

  4. porbably everything, depends if u have receipt still too

  5. You need to call them and ask.  I would think that it should be covered since you didn't cause the damage by dropping it or something else, but I have to warn you that Apple's warranties are a big scam.  Hopefully they will replace it, but don't count on it.

  6. The warranty works like this: You get 1 year complimentary Phone and Hardware support. Also 180 days of shipping support. If your harddrive is damaged, that will be covered. We don't support accidental damage. Anything water damage won't be fixed. You can pay for a repair if it was accidental, but not water. All we need is therial number off your iPod, and we'll set up the repair. If your shipping support is over, it'll be $30 depening on the tax laws in your state. But the repair and phone call is free (we don't charge, but your phone company may). Call us at 1-800-275-2273
