What does the insect Dragonfly mean to the Vietnamese???

I'm living in ho chi min city----I see the dragonfly motif everywhere and would like to know what this insect means to the people in Viet Nam

  1. Dragonfly means rebirth for vietnamese. If you ride over the country side, you'll see all lot of that friendly insect.


  2. Ceramic artisans often paint dragonflies on porcelains to signify a rustic or nature  motif. Other than that, the insect has no  cultural significance that I'm aware of. Dragons and Soaring Dragons, yes but no so much dragonflies...
