What does the inside of a night latch lock look like?

Someone decided to be "helpful" and "fix" it and now the springy metal bit has come out from inside it. ive googled/looked on yahoo for pictures but all im getting is what the outside of the lock looks like from the inside of the door.

You lay this inside the case so that the latch is forced out. This is normally fitted round the main spindle and a lug in the body case casting.
