German and Dutch: from the name Matthias or Matthaeus (Matthew)

Greek: from the name Epemetheus meaning "afterthought"

THEOS (ΘΕΟΣ) in greek means God. Theus means nothing. It can be an ending of some names like Prometheus, Epimitheus,  etc. but nothing more.
