a freind of mine is a lorry driver and is away most of the week,when he is home at weekends,he smokes dope freely in front of his children,he is totaly hooked,he takes a stash away with him,he drives a wide load articulated lorry and in summer takes his son with him,he delivers these giant caravans all over the uk,and abroad,he hides his stash,in the cab,he has to have a mate in the cab to keep an eye on the road,and he smokes it too,he says he only smokes it when they park up for the night,should i just ignore it?cos im a freind, or report it?cos i care.

Ignore it, reporting something so small when he seem's pretty functional (from your description) could very easily ruin your friendship and his life in general. As long as it's just "cannabis" and not cocaine or anything heavy it's not a big deal. If you do report it social services could possibly take away his children, how would you live with yourself knowing that you took a child away from a loving father?

Edit: Plus, if he's been doing it for awhile it hardly affects driving with most people. How is he smoking that he needs someone else to watch the road? If he's trying to use a bong and drive at the same time, you would be right to suggest a change.

If he isnt smoking and driving leave it be. To smoke marijuana is not a big deal at all. First off him smoking in front of his children is like parents who drink in front of their kids. He has to raise him and be responsible for the child so what he tells his son later is his business. Now as long as he isnt smoking and driving the caravan mind your business. If you care why dont you talk to him instead of ratting him out and costing him his job!!! As for smoking causing schizophrania... NO!!! Marijauna causes laziness, gain of weight, depression, and loss of memory.  98% of the damage it leaves is reversible in three weeks. Although it isnt a big deal to smoke, it does impair your motor skills which means you shouldnt operate heavy machinery. Im just happy i live where marijuana is legal and as long as your responsible and safe, everyone is happy.....

on a side note... over 6 million deaths per year worldwide because of alcohol and tobacco. Marijuana so far has caused ZERO! 00000. Boy watch out for that dangerous marijuana

Forget about the driving for a second. Cannabis causes depression and schizophrenia. Is it fair for his children with developing brains to be be passively smoking it? Heck no. I speak from experience: being stoned seriously reduces your ability to drive safely. tbh- I think you know the answer to your question. You friend isnt right and isnt safe. Get it sorted.

Some people even drive better high. Dont report him. Worry about your own problems not his. And people who smoke weed arn't scum, as they could say the same about people who drink, which is perfectly legal and f***s you up even more.

ok well quite frankly this question depends. ill explain.

ok so you have a situation where theirs a very low chance he could get into an accident and be injured. ive been around cannabis alot and it does not effect driving. so you have to also ask if he did get into an accident is it right to assume its related cannabis? probably not. very LOW chance. now on the flip side you could almost definatly ruin his life and your friendship by turning him in. im not being a critic buit which one sounds better? p.s if you maybe talk to him a bit about it then if somthing did happen you could know the blood wasnt on your hands. hope i helped with your decision. to answer flat out i wouldnt but neither decision is really wrong.
