What does the mask do when i get my cavities filled?

i'm getting a mask and then i guess they give me the shots in my gums, but does the mask really make a difference? and theyre small cavities. like, will the mask make me not feel the shots or what? thanks so much, i have my appointment in exactly two hours and i'm going craazzyyyy...

Its laughing gas, it helps calm your nerves. you would be ok with just the shots.

mask, for what? If the are giving you a shot, you don't need the mask.
