What does the meaning of my name mean?

My name is Brandon and it means hill covered in broom (type of weed) and im not sure what thats supposed to mean. anyone have any ideas?

It is not at all uncommon for personal names to be taken from geographical names.

Many surnames (last names) were established based on where a person lived. In Scotland, for example, John of Ross became simply John Ross over time.

Perhaps a long time ago a lady gave her maiden name to her son for a first name or perhaps someone heard the name (or word) and really liked the way it sounded.

It's a very nice name - very manly - no matter what it is supposed to mean.
