  1. Medal count is the total accumilated medals that a country has scored, and has nothing to do with the actually rank, which is scored by the accumilated amount of Gold medals a country has earnt.

So China is winning the Olympics, not America, because it has the highest Gold medal amount, as opposed to the highest total medal amout.

Edit: Huh here was me thinking I was explaining how it worked. Did I say that America scored that way. No. I was just showing him how they scored, and what is the incorrect way of scoreing.

But yeh thumb me down. It's pathetic really, but from some overly patriotic idiots(not all american's i'd like to point out, not that this will be read or anything...), it's no wonder really. Because I must be insulting America, because it's blatetnly all about you, and how the world hates you, and 'why aren't we loved anymore!?!...'

And it's not my opinion it's fact.

  2. That's Adam's opinion, American doesn't score that lame way. Disregard know it alls who think their way is the best just because they hate the U.s. for some petty reason.

  3. It doesn't mean anything, and was made up by the broadcast media.  There is no "official" score.

  4. Kurt nailed it.........nooooooooooooooooooooooooo not this question again

  5. The Olympic medal count is just the number of Gold:Silver:Bronze:Total medals for every country in all sports combined. The USA has a lot of medals overall, but the Chinese have almost 50 golds! The ranking system goes by total medals (We probably came up with that)

  6. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  7. the medal count means how many of each medals each country has! it is not scored... just counted!! as each country wins medals they tally up which medal... gold silver or bronze.. and put it according to which country got that specific medal!

  8. great.. another medal count question.
