  1. Probably resocialization, (defined as...Resocialization is a sociological concept dealing with the process of mentally and emotionally "re-training" a person so that he or she can operate in an environment other than that which he or she is accustomed to.) Funny people are getting insulted by this question.  The fact that soldiers need to be resocialized does not make them any less brave. It simply means that we are all brought up learning that its not right to kill people (unless you are from some ghetto) and, in order to be effective, soldiers need to be turned into killing machines.

  2. Soldiers are created by people who want to fight for others, they are couragous and wonderful people... they are not desocialized... I dont know about resocialized.

  3. Ultimate-Socialization. Trained to be one part of a large collective, reacting independently to achieve a common objective. Mostly reconstruction of Individualism.

  4. brainwashing...like a cult

    actually it is probably both

  5. Soldiers are created by people who love their country and other people.  They have a deep desire to preserve their country and to fight for the rights of others even if it means sacrificing their own lives.

Your assigning labels to them dehumanizes them.  It shows a lack of gratitude, maturity, understanding and basic intelligence.  It shows you have a mind easily manipulated by "academic theories" purported by professors who make a living controlling the thought life of students.

  6. Decentralization of self and rebuilding of self as part of a team. They send you to boot camp to strip you of your individual self and rebuild you as a team player, loyal to those who share the bonding of soldiers/marines together from going through boot camp together, later they transfer that to the unit they are stationed with. It's usually a life long change in tha persons life.

  7. They use both through brainwashing. 1st they shave the soldiers heads so they're all the same and they're trained as one...fight like one group.
