  1. Sounds like a derivative of Guild Master.  Like a very qualified, trained, talented, or artistic craftsman.  Guilds would different kinds of crafts - metal worker, wood worker, machinist, and Master would be like the top rank.

    My opinion is (and I don't know any Dutch) :-

    Gild in German, has the same meaning as the English guild,or gild ; Organization, Fellowship, Association etc.

    Meester in German is meister, meaning craftsman.

    A Gildemeester was someone in Holland who had served an apprenticeship, or training, which was recognised by a particular trade association*.

    Guildemeester ; Master-craftsman

    *e.g. in England it might be The City and Guilds of London Institute.
