What does the number that is listed with frozen shrimp mean? I've seen some say 21-25.

  1. How many is in a pound 8-12 count shrimp are about the biggest and 80-120 are so small you can't do any thing with um.21-25's are about the best for all around cooking .Some folks go for 30-40's cause they say it they taste less iodine in um.

  5. It is the average count per pound.  The bigger the number the smaller the shrimp.  The biggest are U8s which mean they are less than 8 per pound or they weigh 2oz or more.
