  1. connecting carved turns down a face.

  2. Keeping your skis not only paralell through the turns,  but level as well,  like your skis biting into the snow at the same angles.

  3. Quite simply what it says. The edge closest to the snow on each ski should be in the snow for turns, this will give you the most control, and it will prevent you from sliding.

To tell if you have done this look back at your trail, and if you see two lines beside each other the whole way you did it right. If you wash away the powder you are not there, but keep it up!

  4. The term is commonly used to correct the error of not engaging the edges of each ski equally.  You may have one knee (typically the downhill leg) tipped more into the hill than the uphill knee.  Both knees and hence both sets of edges should be equally tipped into the hill.
