What does the phrase "this is how i roll" mean and where does it come from?

Have heard that several times and i'm not sure what exactly it means. Do you know where it originates from?

It means "that's just the way I do things". I don't really know where it comes from but i would guess like "roll" is related to cars or something.

It's a way to describe a way someone behaves.

For example: Why do you carry so much money?

Answer: That's just how i roll.

It is used to affirm an attribute of someone, sometimes impressive.  It most likely comes from the streets, gangsters.
