What does the pm in time stand for? e.g. 2pm?

I was just wondering what does the p.m in pm stand for. Im not talking about the prime minister pm or the post mortem pm but the time one e.g 2pm

Post meridian. It's basically Latin for "afternoon." So anything after the middle/noon, ie the afternoon, is P.M.
