What does the "American Dream" mean to you? What are the characteristics and elements of the "American Dream"?

To me, the main tenet is the idea that everyone should have an equal opportunity to succeed.

What does it mean to me> means nothing anymore sad to say but what the American dream was all about no longer exist in the country.

What the characteristics and elements of it were the freedom to make our personal dreams come true whether it be wealth fame or any kind of fortune

Well since then our freedom is so limited they might as well leave other countries alone and fight for Americans freedom anymore.

For those of you who thumbs this down you might want to read up on the older version of American dreams and list all of the rights and freedom that has been taken from Americans since then.
