Question:

What does the "BUDGET" in the Lonely Planet book refer to?

I have a Lonely Planet Southeast Asia On a Shoestring and am trying to estimate the cost of my travel. In the first page of each country, there is a "Budget" stated under "Fast Fact".

My question is, how would you interpret this figure? Does it include accommodation? Meals and transportation? Entrance fees on average? For example, it says USD 23 for Vietnam and I was wondering if it would be around USD 23 x 5 if I were to spend 5 days in Vietnam (on a shoestring)?

Welcome your feedbacks.

Thanks in advance.

  1. I don't have this particular guide, but LPs books usually have a definition of things like 'Budget' at the beginning of the book before the country descriptions start.

If you can't find it, you could always email them for more information.
