What does the "dry mode" do on my window a/c?

It states in the manual that it has a dry mode ,but thats all. Does it mean I should use this mode when it is dry or I should used it when it isn't dry to make it so.

Dry mode will allow the compressor to dehumidify the room with by running intermittently instead of continuously. Continuous operation of the compressor will cool the room.
