What does the quote "So eager for eternal damnation" mean?

  3. It's a bit hard to tell without knowing the context, but in general terms it would apply to someone who wants to follow a course of action which he (or she) knows is classed as a deadly sin. For instance, a soldier who is eager to go into battle and kill the enemy, even though his religion says he will go to h**l for committing murder.
