What does the "text" (with arrows) dial do on the stereo of my Mazda 3?

There is a dial on the dash that when pushed changes between FM and FM2. It seems this button assigns the stereo presets. But on the bottom of the button there is the word "text with an arrow on each side, what does this do?

If there is song information available (artist/title/album) it will scroll it. This works on some cds, mp3, and some radio stations.
