I had a surgery procedure done and when I woke up from general anesthesia I started crying hesterically. Ive read somewhere that anesthesia brings out our sensitive sides and anxiety. But why was I crying hesterically? I didnt even know what I was crying about...Could this mean that I have some underlying psychological issues that are suppressed?? Should I should get a psychological evaluation or get checked for precaution purposes?? Please help....

  1. I don't think its anything you need to worry about.  General anesthesia effects every one differently.  My mom gets horribly sick to her stomach.  My daughter had horrific nightmares.  I have trouble with my legs shaking and not being able to stop them.  If you continue to have problems with crying for no reason, or other kinds of symptoms I would definitely ask to talk to the anesthesiologist about your reaction.
