Its the one to the right of the green neutral light. This is my first Honda bike, and it won't start all of a sudden. The display lights turn on when i turn it the key to the on position, but when I go to start it it usually cranks unsuccessfully once, then when i crank it again all the display lights go off, and come back on when i release the accelerator. Please help!

  1. dude! that's like the check engine light in a car man

seriously bro, looks like you have a totally assume major problem man, oh wow what a bummer man!

  2. ok so is it the one that has a "FI" on it or is it the other one?   i have the exact same bike. email me for more info.

But check it out,  turn your kill switch off. The red switch on the right handle bar near the throttle.  turn that off.  Turn your key to the off position.  Turn it to the on spot and hit the kill switch to the Run position. You should hear a noise like an electrical device moving in the gas tank as soon as you hit it.   If you do not than you have a big problem. I can attempt to help you out or you can go down to your bike shop and let them walk you through the reason its not working

IF you do hear the noise then the reason it doesnt crank sometimes is because you have to let the fuel cell move all the way before you turn it on.  If you hear the noise wait untill it stops before you try to crank it up.

  3. Oil pressure light.

As soon as the key is turned to on, the oil light comes on.

When the engine is running - the oil pump is circulating oil and the light goes out.

If the light were to come on while the engine was running, turn off the engine immediately - moving parts are not getting lubricated.

When you press the start button, all lights temporarily go off to provide maximum amps for the starter motor to start the engine - when the button is released, the lights come back on.

Check the spark plugs - sportbikes don't like to run with semi-fouled spark plugs.

Clean the carbureators if the plugs are good.
