  1. The most important is the gain.

The purpose of the gain is to match the signal volts RMS coming from the source (CD player, etc.) to the input of the amp to prevent clipping (damage by over powering).

Here is a guide that will help you set the gain correctly http://www.datafilehost.com/download.php...

You'll need a multi-meter (AC voltmeter), Microsoft Excel and a way to burn an audio CD from an MP3.

If you don't have Excel, use this link http://www.box.net/shared/nkkw1dhk4g

  2. Sub sonic filter is a filter that removes frequencies that are too low for the human ear to hear. It reduces unnecessary cone movement and helps with the overall life of the sub.

Low pass filter is a filter that amplifies the frequencies around a specific Hz and helps remove the frequencies above or in some cases below that Hz. The LP filter is usually used to set you amp to either match the sub Hz or you can set it to match a Hz that is common in your music.

I'm not 100% but I think the bass eq is the setting for how many db's you want to gain in your bass. The higher the number the greater the bass.

Gain is how many watts you want to send through your subs. Adjusting gain needs to be done very carefully because too much on the gain will blow the subs and too low you won't hear anything.

For setting you own setting i would start by setting the gain to a level that you know is completely safe and you won't damage your subs. Second i would set the lower pass filter to either what your subs are happiest at (usually a recommended setting with the manual or on the internet) or setting the LP filter to what your music has in it. (play a song you like and slowly adjust the LP filter until you find where you are gaining the best sound) Then i would add your bass eq and set it for somewhere that you like to have your bass at. Finally i would adjust the sub sonic filter to a frequency about 30-50 Hz lower than your LP filer.

    Hope this helps.
