What does the sun set later in the northern and southern regions?

Like why do we have the midnight sun for an example, and it is mainyl dark in the winter time, though I do find it interested........

With the movement of the Earth the sun sets at different angles to the earth thus creating long days and short nights in summer in the northern hemisphere and visa versa in the southern hemisphere where it's winter.
