I believe it's from Ukranian origin, but it might be Russian or somewhere else in Eastern Europe. I also heard it has something to do with dairy. Thanks to anyone who answers!

  1. it sounds greek

  2. I couldn't find Maslanko, but I think this may well be the same name, and Maslenko is a variant. Buttermilk is your "dairy" link.

    Maslanka

    Last name origin & meaning:

Polish (Maślanka) and Jewish (from Poland): Polish nickname or metonymic occupational name, or Jewish ornamental name, from Polish maślanka ‘buttermilk’.

  3. It's definitely of slavic origin. In Macedonian language "Maslo" is translated as "oil" and "Maslen" as "oily".. There is an old traditional and famous Macedonian surname "Malenko" (which is a bit similar to this one) which derives from the word "small, little"
