What does the term "college major" mean?

this is really sad because im 17 and gonna apply to college sometime in the next 4 months and i dont know this.

What you major in is what you like to have your degree in.

Ex. I am currently a Civil Engineer Major.

That means I am taking the courses required to obtain a degree in Civil Engineering.

In example, my college major is in health. I plan on being a doctor.
