What does the term "free space" mean in your hard-drive?

    It's like a notebook. You have a 100 page notebook. You write in 60 pages of the book. You have 40 pages of free space.

    If your Hard Drive has 100GB (gigabytes) of space and you have used 20GB then your free space would be 80GB.
