  1. Its just a prefix. IF i remember rightly, the prefixes on London routes usually relate to where they run, and i think W includes the Walthamstow area, although i could be wrong. the N definitely means its a Night Bus, i'm certain of that!

  2. Wankers !

  3. Where and What W?

  4. Ring Transport for London & ask them or you could try contacting TFL Museum but from the look of the article below, it may simply be a random allocation of a letter:

    These articles also look interesting:

Edit: Because I'm a complete saddo, I kept looking, according to this article the W at one point indicated it was a flat fare route (there was a period before Red Ken became Mayor that fares were charged according to how many zones you travelled through, how fares are charged has probably changed several times over the decades)

  5. it means "way"

  6. Wood Green.

Most of the routes with the W in go near there, if not actually through there.

There used to be a W21 in Walthamstow as well.

Similarly, you get routes with H near Harrow, B near Bexleyheath, K near Kingston...

  7. I think it stands for western

  8. west?

  9. it is the fiwst wetter in  the word wide...such as I wide the bus

  10. Wait a bit longer sucker
